The Executive Board of the Ohio Young Democrats is made up officers hailing from a diverse group of economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.  Their expertise in various fields of government, political organizing, and electoral campaigning has given them the experience necessary to lead our statewide organization.

Phil Montgomery / Treasurer
Chair, Finance Committee

Phil Montgomery, 28, was appointed in September 2009 to the position of Treasurer to fill an unexpired term. Phil is currently the Treasurer of the Summit County Young Democrats and has served as the Chair of their annual fundraisers for 2009. He is a graduate of DeVry University and Ohio Dominican University, both in Columbus. Phil currently works as the Supervisor of Internal Audit for Time Warner Cable’s Northeast Ohio Division..  To contact Phil, click here.

APPOINTED OFFICERS

Darren Shulman / Legal Counsel/Parlimentarian

Darren Shulman, 30, was appointed as Legal Counsel/Parlimentarian in 2008.  Darren currently works as counsel for the Department of Administrative Services, having previously served as an assistant prosecutor in Montgomery County.  Darren is a graduate of Harvard Law School, but still enjoys the finer things in life such as comic books and superhero movies.  To contact Darren, click here. 

 

 

Allie Petonic / Run2009 Campaign Coordinator

Allie Petonic, 26, was appointed Run2009 Coordinator in 2009.  Allie is Outreach Coordinator for the Franklin County Young Democrats.  She works in Columbus with United Foods & Commercial Workers Local 1059 as Political Director.  To contact Allie, click here.

Christopher Kromer / Communications Director

Christopher Kromer, 25, was appointed Communications Director in July 2009.  A graduate student at Miami University, Christopher previously worked as a reporter for the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, OH, covering economic and political news and winning numerous awards.  A graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Christopher has served academic internships in the offices of Congressman Tim Ryan and Governor Ted Strickland.  Christopher plans to attend law school in Ohio and continue gaining experience in Buckeye politics.  To contact Christopher, click here.
